Still dealing with the hangover from the 2023 Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® National Championships? Well, we’ve got the cure: the first bit of info for the 2024 event! That’s right, it’s April, which means it’s time to start planning what you’ll be doing on Sept. 3-6, 2024. But how can you plan your journey to Lincoln, NE, to compete in the nation’s biggest autocross if you don’t know what days your class will be running? Good news, my friend, because you’re about to discover that essential piece of information – and so much more.
If you don’t know what the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships is, let’s break it down for you: It’s awesome. More specifically, it’s the biggest motorsports event you’ll likely ever attend, with more than 1,000 drivers converging on Lincoln Airpark each year to battle for SCCA National Championship titles in classes ranging from near-stock vehicles to purpose-built performance machinery. The Solo Nats, as the event is commonly called, is also the culmination of the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour, a nationwide series of SCCA Autocross events that traverses the country each year. In 2024, 14 Solo National Tours will take place, many of which you can still participate in.
What’s autocross, you ask? My goodness, that’s a sizable question. Step one in discovering the answer is reading this article. Once you’ve done that, remember that everyone is welcome at Solo National Tours and the Solo National Championships – that means that while it’s the pinnacle event in the sport, the Solo Nats can technically be your very first autocross.
Back to the question at hand: As everyone who’s ever been to the Solo National Championships knows, this event is so massive that it takes four days to complete. The competition itself is divided into halves, with one set of competitors tackling the east and west courses on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the other set of drivers hitting the pair of courses on Thursday and Friday. Not so fast! The way this works is there are three registration tiers for the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships, the first being reserved for past National Champs, current event chiefs, and 100 Percenters. The second tier includes podium finishers at the prior year’s Solo Nats, winners in supplemental and undersubscribed classes, and Silver Circle members. The final tier is open registration – this is the registration tier that applies to most.

Tier 1 – June 11, 2024, 3 p.m. CT
Between June 11 and July 31, event registration is $224, with a $50 cancellation fee. Tier 1 registration is the first group who can sign up for the Solo Nats, with Tier 1 consisting of 2023 National Champions, 2024 event chiefs, and those in the 100 Percenters club (this is a group of members who have competed in all 50 Solo Nationals held).
Tier 2 – June 18, 2024, 3 p.m. CT
Autocrossers belong in Tier 2 if they finished on the podium at last year’s Solo Nats (that’s the top three – not all trophy winners qualify), were winners in supplemental or undersubscribed classes and didn’t officially win a National Championship, or are members of the Silver Circle with 25 or more Solo Nationals under their belts.
Open Registration – June 25, 2024, 3 p.m. CT
If you don’t qualify for Tier 1 or Tier 2, open registration is for you.

Here are other 2024 Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships dates to mark on your calendar:
Test n Tune Registration – June 11, 2024, 5 p.m. CT
This is when registration opens for the on-site Test n Tune. Each Test n Tune time slot comes in one-hour increments, with the slot beginning at the top of the hour.
Registration Fee increase – July 31, 2024, 12:01 a.m. CT
General registration for the Solo Nats is $224, but on this date, that fee increases to $325. This date also marks when the cancellation fee for those who registered prior to July 31 becomes $100. Refunds are not available for those who register for the Solo Nats on or after July 31.
Online Registration Closes – Aug. 26, 2024, 3 p.m. CT
This deadline comes one week before drivers will be loading into Lincoln Airpark.
Last Day for Refunds – Aug. 30, 2024, 7 p.m. CT
For those who registered prior to July 31, this is the final day to cancel and receive a refund (less the $100 cancellation fee).
